Vomiting, also known as emesis, is the involuntary expulsion of stomach contents through the mouth. It is a common symptom of many different conditions, including food poisoning, gastroenteritis, and motion sickness. In some cases, people may also induce vomiting intentionally, for example, to clear their stomach before a medical procedure or to lose weight.
